Playful Dinosaurs as Stuffed Animals and Toys

Playful toy dinosaurs are favorites of children. These ancient creatures seem to hold a fascination for kids and are enjoyed in many forms of plush animals and toys.

There are many different kinds of dinosaurs whose names I've always found hard to pronounce (or even remember), but most little boys can name them all.

Babysaurus - Dinosaur Baby Plush Toy

Babysaurus - the Plush Toy Baby Dinosaur
My favorite dinosaur is a plush toy version called a  babysaurus.  I created it in crochet with the thought in mind that it would make a darling new baby gift.

Hand-crocheted in soft pale yellow acrylic yarn, babysaurus measures 21 inches from his nose to the tip of his tail and stands 10" tall at his head. In addition to having a pretty yellow body, babysaurus has pastel green spots and the pads of his feet are green. The mouth is crocheted in light pink yarn and the eyes are blue crocheted circles. A pastel delight, this dandy dinosaur is available in my Etsy Shop Coastal Crochet Crafts

Babysaurus Comes with Baby Blocks

Baby dinosaur also comes with a set of four blocks which spell out B A B Y.  Created with plastic canvas and acrylic yarn, the blocks make a cute decor accent for a baby's room and can be played with when baby is a bit bigger.

Wood Toy Dinosaur 4-Piece Set

Wooden Dinosaur Set

A friend of mine in Missouri creates beautiful wooden toys with a scroll saw.  This Waldorf style toy dinosaur set is hand cut on a scroll saw, sanded smooth, and finished  with a natural beeswax and organic jojoba oil polish.

This dinosaur set includes
four dinosaurs, each cut from 3/4" thick wood. The sizes are:

  1. T Rex (maple): 3 1/2" high by 3 1/2" long
  2. Triceratops (walnut): 2" high by 4 1/4" long
  3. Apatosaurus (oak): 2 1/2" high by 4" long
  4. Stegosaurus (cherry): 2 1/8" high by 3 3/4" long

Susan's dinosaur toys can be found in her very charming Etsy shop she calls “Ooh Look! It's a Rabbit!”. The shop is filled with many other kinds of wooden hand-cut scroll saw toys, including a rabbit!

A Triceratops Dinosaur in Crochet

A Triceratops dinosaur in colorful crochet makes an adorable stuffed toy for a child.  This Triceratops plushie is 8.5 inches tall and 12 inches to the end of the tail. Crocheted in acrylic yarn in Blue with green and orange accents, Triceratops is cute and cuddly and ready to find his 'forever home' with a dinosaur-loving child.

Created by Tammy of Ontario, Canada, Triceratops dinosaur can be found in her Etsy Shop with the fitting name of Dancing Dino Toys.

  1. When my son was little, this would have been his favorite post. He always loved dinosaurs, which I think is pretty common for little guys. I love all of the dinosaurs you have featured. I always appreciate the way you promote other crafters as well as your own work. You are a very generous Elf! Bet Santa claims you for his team each Christmas.
